the GAS

here is your guide to each and every member of the gas!

Jonathan "Juan" McFarland

Juan is one of the three original's of the band, and also the oldest. Juan graduated from Montgomery County High School in 1996, and from Greenville College in 2000. After graduating from college, Juan moved on to become a Youth Pastor at the Parkridge Methodist Church in Chicago. As a member of the Gas, Juan is a lead singer, and provides the best lyrics in "Makes Jason Laugh" of the vocalists. Juan also plays the guitar, and occasionly moonlights with Counting Crows tunes. And, not to make this any longer then it is already, but an important historical note to be, um, noted: Juan was married to Carrie Berkbigler on December 16, 2000. They now live together in Parkridge, Illinois.

Zachary "Zekial the Camel" Young

Zach is also one of the Gas' original members, and definitely rocks the show. Zach is the glue that keeps the Gas together. And that is the absolute truth. Zach is a 1997 graduate of Montgomery County High School. After high school, Zach attended William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri for two years, and then transferred to Lindenwood University in St. Charles to complete his schooling, where he will finish up this Spring. Zach is the setter for the Lindenwood Men's Volleyball program, and was named to the NAIA All-American National team in 2000. After college, Zach aspires to be a high school teacher, and a coach. As far as Natural Gas goes, Zach is one of the lead vocalists, and is very skilled in the Lyrical Arts.

Luke "Ukelay" Young

Luke is the third original member of the Natural Gas, coming old school from the days of Nat-Cha-Roll-Gas. Luke is a 1999 graduate of Montgomery County High School, and attends Graceland University, Lamoni, Iowa now. At Graceland, Luke majors in 3D Studio Art, with emphasis in sculpture, and Secondary Education. What this basically means is that Luke wants to teach high school art after college. Luke is also on the Men's Track team, throwing the shot put, discus, and hammer. He hopes to eventually make it into collegiate triple jumping, though. Luke's role in the Gas is mainly as a lead singer, but also contributes by playing his mandolin "Madeline," and occasionaly tuba. He also likes to moonlight in silent drumming.

Corey "Rogaine" Roden

Rogaine is, well, awesome. I am not actually sure how he was introduced to the Gas, but boy am I glad that he was. Rogaine is a 2000 graduate of Montgomery County High School, and now attends a community college in Kansas, learning the skills of an auto technician. Corey is in competition with Aaron as the most talented Gasonateur, with Luke close behind. Rogaine provides the band with a dope beat to step to on the drums, and is a staple in the band's songlist with the song that he wrote with Aaron, "The War Within," upon which also makes him the best vocalist in the group hands down. Unless you like that yelling type of singing, then the rest of the group would be more to your liking, probably. Every time you turn around, Rogaine is doing something you d--better. For a great example, Corey has mastered the fine-tuned art of Artificial Posterior Flatulence (Back Farting).

max.jpg

Max "Silent Max" Berkbigler

Max is in his second year with the band, but his contributions make him look like a seasoned veteran. Max Ryan is a 1999 graduate of Wellsville-Middletown R-I High School. Max is currently attending William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. At WWU, Max is majoring in Graphic Design in the art department. Max is an amazing artist, and will definitely be using those skills throughout his lifetime. In Natural Gas, Max contributes through keyboard playing, singing, song writing, t-shirt designing, and head stands. Max was added to the band after the rest of the band realized that he already was a part of the band because of his constant involvement, and might as well make him an official member. Max was in charge of designing the latest Gas shirt.

Aaron "Rocks the Show" Randolph

Aaron was added to the band around the same time Max was added, and is way appreciated by the rest of the band. Aaron is a 2000 graduate of Montgomery County High School, and now works for the Water Works of Montgomery City, also getting a degree to eventually head up the operation. Aaron has been playing guitar (his obvious contribution to the band) since he was 7. Aaron likes bluegrass style songs the most, but is talented enough that he can adjust to any stye thrown at him. Aaron is known for being able to learn a song in five minutes and then play it flawless three months later with out any practice between. In a word, "amazing." His nickname fits him, because Aaron really does rock the show.

anybody notice that every single one of those dudes has a nickname?
